I am covering NBA player Shaq on twitter. He uses his twitter account to promote his show “Shaq VS”. His “tweets” are very short and straight to the point. He likes to comment on different things that are going on around the world. He recently commented on Mike Tyson being on Oprah the other day, “Great show today on oprah, mike and evander meet for the first time since the ear biting incident, man oprah is my idol, touching show”. He likes to tell jokes on twitter as well. He said, “Yo momma so dumb that she went to an L.A. Clippers game to get a hair cut”.
Shaq says whatever is on his mind. He will say random tweets about anything. He tells his followers what he is doing that day and what he has already done. A big part of his twitter is commenting on wins and losses after a basketball game. He also recently went to a Jay-Z concert, Shaq said, “I'm at a jz concert, what recession, its 50 thousand people here, jigga killn it, jz the g.o.a.t. Dam put your diamonds up its the roc”. Shaq’s tweets are never to be taken very serious. He spells as if he was in second grade. He is good at staying close with his fans. He does not hold back on how he really feels about a situation. This is why he is so popular. He stays down to earth and he lets his fans understand what he does in a normal day.

I follow Shaq regularly on Twitter as well. He is always worth a laugh and never ceases to bring up some kind of interesting conversation among his followers. Once in a while he will tweet back and forth with Lance Armstrong (@lancearmstrong) and other well-known celebrities.
ReplyDeleteShaq also likes to have his followers go on hunts for him by giving them clues to his location thru Twitter.
I recall reading one story about two college students that went to a diner in L.A where Shaq said he was eating. Sure enough, when the two got to the restaurant they found the giant of a man in a corner booth with his cell phone. While they were deciding whether or not to go say hi, Shaq overheard them and Tweeted something along the lines of "Any of my followers here in the diner with me? Come say hi." And that is just what the two did.
Now that Shaq is closer in Cleveland, I may have to go on one of these hunts someday...
