Anderson Cooper primarily uses his Twitter account to promote his show, "Anderson Cooper 360." I do not feel any closer to Anderson Cooper personally through this account of his because you can tell it is not really him posting the "tweets;" it is one of the producers of the show trying to get his followers to watch what is on that night.
The producer usually just writes a tag or a tease line that says something like "what is sex addiction?"; or "have you seen this story? http://bit.ly/1zHdEn. really tragic. Steve Perry on tonight to answer questions - send 'em - http://bit.ly/2DTkQi."
These tweets seem to arouse reader interest in reading the story on the AC 360 web site or watching it in a prolonged documentary / discussion on its scheduled air date. But in terms of celebrity intimacy, I actually feel farther from knowing who Anderson Cooper really is as a person, which is the one unattractive thing about his twitter account. It feels more like following an AC 360 advertisement than Anderson Cooper himself, which is annoying if you wanted to know what was on Anderson Cooper's mind.
